The question is: How tall is the flag pole at MRHS?

We located the pole with a Total Station and a Laser Scanner. The scanner output is metric and the screenshot below shows a height of 12.376 meters. Scroll down for a video created from the scan data.

12.376 x 3937 / 1200 = 40.6 feet. We are still using US Survey feet so the conversion from meters to feet is 3937/1200 or 3.280833333… Soon we will change to International Feet which has a conversion of 10000/3048 or 3.280839895… The difference is about 1 part in 500,000 and is irrelevant for this application.
